I often get caught by an underwater scene without a particular object in it. I can’t always tell what grabs me about it, but its typically a combination of scenery, light and shadows that sets a certain mood in the scene.
Sunrays is often present. There is something really special with rays penetrating through water.
This scene was in shallow water at the end of todays dive. The kelp was slowly waving back and forth in the swell, beautifully lit by the sun and my flashguns.
I always try to capture the mood in a scene. It isn’t easy, and even if I can recall my own mood when looking back through the frame, I have no idea how others respond to it.
