Few things are as meditative to me as a macro dive on a familiar dive site. Early this morning I did such a dive, and on this particular dive, I captured two species for the first time. It was not that uncommon species really, but still the first time for me.
First encounter was a tiny Spiny red gurnard – Chelidonichthys spinosus – it was spinning around on the mud bottom like it was on speed. Really funny behaviour.
Next encounter was an Angular crab – Goneplax rhomboides. I wanted a full-frontal image of it, but this one kept showing me its back. It was just like it was shouting “I’m an Angular crab…”, showcasing the distinct angles on the corners of its shell.
